Els Visser
THIS IS MY JOURNEYAbout
HI! My name is Els Visser, 29 years old and a proud Dutchie, I am a professional long distance triathlete.
My pathway to professional sport is very unique. I studied medicine, travelled a lot during my studies, survived a shipwreck in Indonesia, worked as a doctor in Surgery and started doing triathlon late 2016. My first Ironman was in Switzerland in 2017 where I finished first of all agegroupers and 4th overall.
I discovered a talent I never knew I had. Last year I turned professional and this was a big year for me. The highlight was that I became an Ironman Champion by winning the Ironman in my home country!
“I believe in myself, will push myself to the limit and I will make the most out of it!”
I am coached by Trisutto coach Cameron Watt and train with his squad The Hills District. We are based in Brisbane, Australia and in summer time we train in Sankt Moritz, Switzerland.
Together we work hard so I can become the best I can be. It’s a step into the unknown, but I am very excited and I enjoy every moment of this Ironman journey.
One thing for sure, I believe in myself, will push myself to the limit and I will make the most out of it! I am fortunate to have a team that helps me to improve and achieve my goals. A team with who I want to share and experience my adventures. My goal is to reach the podium in Kona.
I am happy to share my training and racing stories with you!
With love,
Els Visser
